Texas Enrollment

Stellar Virtual Private School is a tuition-based program Accepting K-12 students in qualifying states. However, in Texas, families can receive tuition coverage through the Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA)

Eligibility and Enrollment

Students are eligible to attend if they live in the state of Texas and are between the ages of 5 and 18 by September 1st. Here are some of the documents you’ll need to provide when you enroll.

  • Please provide an official document showing proof of age. Acceptable documents are as follows:

    • Birth Certificate

    • Passport

    • Visa

    • Driver's License State ID

  • You must provide one of the following documents as proof of residency to be eligible for enrollment.

    • Utility bill indicating legal residence (i.e. phone, cable, electricity, water).

    • Lease agreement or rent receipt indicating the landlord’s address and phone number.

    • Official letters from organizations such as the Housing Authority (must be original letter on letterhead and signed by the organization’s representative).

    • Documentation of homeownership in state of residence.

  • If paying for tuition using TEFA, you will need to submit your TEFA approval letter.

  • We are enrolling students in grades K-11.

  • You may need to provide additional documentation if any of the following circumstances apply:

    • Previous academic records/transcripts (unofficial transcripts are accepted.)

    • Immunization Records

    • Custody order: If your legal guardianship is determined by court order, please submit a copy of the order.

    • Gifted evaluation: If you are requesting enrollment in a course that is ahead of or behind your student’s age-based grade level or you are requesting placement in a Gifted course, an Academic Services Counselor will contact you to request a report card, Prior Academic History Form, and/or state test scores.

    • Special Programs Records: If your student falls under a special program (e.g., Special Education, 504, ESL), please provide the most up-to-date paperwork so we can verify and begin providing the appropriate services.

    • You will submit all documentation during the enrollment process.

The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program will be accepting applications from February 4 through March 17, 2026. All Texas children are eligible to apply if they live in Texas and are a United States citizen or were lawfully admitted into the U.S.

Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA)

The initial application period will open on February 4, 2026. Families may sign up for updates from the Comptroller’s office.

Additionally, to complete the application, districts may require you to appear in person with approved state ID to get your child’s student ID number. Please contact your school district for more information.

To prepare for the TEFA application, parents should gather the following documents.

All Applicants

  • Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number for the parent.

  • SSN for the child.

  • Form 1040, U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, for 2024 or 2025.

Texas Residency Documents

  • Texas Driver’s license number or state ID number.

  • If your driver's license or state ID number cannot be verified, proof of residency can be established by uploading one of the following:

    • Utility bill

    • Lease agreement

    • Mortgage statement

    • Voter registration certificate.

Student Documents

  • If your child’s SSN cannot be verified, proof of lawful status can be established by uploading one of the following:

    • Birth certificate or report of birth abroad

    • Certificate of naturalization or citizenship

    • Other official documentation affirming lawful admission.
